This has been a good house -- a nice house -- as
far as just two people living in it.
I don't use the tub anymore because the last time
I got in it I couldn't get out ...and had to call the neighbors to get
out -- which was embarrassing.
He does most of the laundry. He thinks I shouldn't
go down the steps.
I've got arthritis pretty bad. I've had it since
1952. So -- and there's things that you can't do -- like housecleaning
and things like that. It's just getting so I can't do it.
[You said the other day that you'd thought about
getting your washer and dryer and your shower up out of the basement. Tell
me what you'd thought about, but you .. you hadn't figured out a way to
do it.] Oh we hadn't, no. We didn't figure any way of getting it up here.
My daughter has tried. She has measured -- we have measured. There's no
way. We've got a small door on the bathroom. And I don't think they'll
even go through the door. We'd have to do a LOT of remodeling.

Original Bathroom and Kitchen
Floorplans
We developed three different levels of bathroom modifications measuring at the levels of least, mid, and most in respect to total changes and expense. For the least amount of changes we decided to add a shower bench, shower curtain, shower head, two reinforced grab bars, and stick-on bath tub tread to cover the slippery surface. A shower bench will enable the person to get in and out of the bath tub. Shower curtain will prevent the water splash on the floor. Table 3.1 shows the proposed items and the vendors, and the estimated cost for each item. Table 3.1. Least
