Control Center

"Create Your Control Center," is a smaller version of the living area in the "Home for All
Ages" display. It demonstrates how to create a "control center" to make sitting, reading,
watching TV, etc. more convenient for a person with limited mobility. This display
includes two arm chairs, end table, portable reading table, table lamp, floor lamp, rolling
cart, portable lift cushion, and numerous assistive devices.
The display is interactive. Participants are encouraged to sit on the lift cushion, use the
environmental control unit, and try out the various gadgets and gizmos to make life
easier for persons with disabilities. The display items are light and easy to carry and
can be transported in a van. The whole display can be arranged on a 6x9 area rug
(included) to use at a home show, congregate meal site, or health fair. At smaller events,
one chair, one table, and one lamp, plus gadgets, could make an effective
micro-mini-display.
A poster and single page handout are included. The handout describes the features of
the display as well as sources and prices of the assistive devices.
