Celebrate Families is a parent, child and family skills-building curriculum designed to help parents and children connect with each other, build skills and positive attitudes, and celebrate family strengths.
Audience - Designed for early elementary students and their parents/caregivers and appropriate for grandparents raising grandchildren or foster parents. Facilitators must be careful about mixing grades because of the developmental differences of children within these age ranges. A range of two consecutive grades is appropriate for one class.
Program format:
- 8 sessions
- Each session 90 minutes in length
- Families meet together for opening icebreaker
- Parents and youth meet for an hour of skill-building activities
- Families meet for closing activity
