Baked apple wedges

Makes 4 servings, 1 apple each

Ingredients:

  • 4 baking apples (Rome, Granny Smith, Gala, Cortland)
  • 1 teaspoon margarine, cut into small pieces
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash, core, and cut apples into wedges. Place in a baking dish.
  2. Dot apples with margarine.
  3. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Pour orange juice over the apples, if desired.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes or until tender or microwave in a non-metal baking dish for 11-13 minutes on high.

Nutrition Information: 100 calories, 1 gram total fat, 25 grams carbohydrate, 0.5 grams protein, 3 grams fiber, 10 milligrams sodium, 0 milligrams cholesterol.
