Congratulations County Staff and Volunteers! You have grown our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and 4-H Partnership from 5 teams in 2008 to nearly 60 teams in the 2013-14 Nature's Fury Season!
This represents a Tremendous Impact on the STEM Careers of nearly 500 youth this year! Many of these youth are participating in 4-H for the first time as they experience the transforming educational experience where Leadership, Citizenship, Communications, problem solving through technology and teamwork skills are practiced in this important partnership between FLL and 4-H.
"I still remember six years ago as the Climate Conquerors participated in our first Iowa FLL Championship and a team from South Dakota remarked to our 4-H Bling decked 4-H FLL Team from Harrison County, 'I can't believe that there aren't more 4-H Teams here as it just seems like such a natural partnership between 4-H and FLL with the learning by doing and the communication and problem solving.'" David Seilstad, Regional Youth Program Specialist
A REMINDER: Remember that the following reports are not meant to highlight the teams that advanced to the Iowa FLL Championship as that is never our goal in working with 4-H FLL Teams. What they discover is more important than what they win iS A CORE VALUE that we take very seriously. A team that participates in the season will accomplish SO MUCH MORE THAN any award or advancement can possibly recognize for ALL 4-H FLL Teams.
