Harrison County Extension brings the University to you!

An elected, 9 member council oversees Harrison County Extension to ensure that the residents receive the highest possible value.  We provide opportunity and resources to improve your life.

Extension council members are elected by the voters of Harrison County to serve four-year terms.  They oversee the planning, preparation, marketing and delivery of the Extension educational programs here in the county.  Every county in Iowa has an Extension council (Pottawattamie has two).  [Extension council job description]

Extension councils provide, through a unique partnership with Iowa State University and other federal and state organizations, research-based, unbiased information and education to help county citizens make better decisions.
