A variety of interactive workshops and sessions are being planned for youth 4th grade through 12th grade who register for this event. Youth will learn how to take vitals on a calf to determine if they are sick; how diseases spread and what would happen if a deadly disease came to Iowa; discover how the vet learns to identify the parts of a reproductive tract by palpation; and the science behind building and creating your own tasty hamburger! Qualifies as FSQA Certification for one year!

 Hardin County Extension will be conducting four 2014 Farm Bill Information meetings from Dec. 12 -  Jan. 20.  Presenters will be Kelvin Leibold, Iowa State University Extension Farm Management Field Specialist and Sandy Hoversten, Executive Director for Hardin County Farm Service Agency.

Chip Flory, Editorial Director of Pro Farmer, will be the kick-off speaker at the North Central Iowa Crop & Land
Stewardship Clinic being held Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Iowa Falls-Alden High School
in Iowa Falls.  Flory will address “2015 Ag Outlook”.  Other speakers include Elwynn Taylor, Bob Hartzler, Dan
Andersen, Kapil Arora, Mark Johnson, Angie Rieck-Hinz, and Kelvin Leibold and Mark Tomer.

For the tenth year, we are pleased to offer a Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation (HCCEF) Grant Application.  This form seeks to make the application process simple and straight-forward for non-profits.  Hard copies may be obtained at your local city hall or by contacting the Hardin County Extension Service at 641-648-4850.
