The Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation (HCCEF) will provide grants to improve the quality of life in Hardin County, Iowa. Deadline for grant applications is 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, with grant recipients being announced in early April. Nonprofit agencies, schools, units of government, or other qualifying charitable organizations operating for the benefit of Hardin County may apply. Full-time Hardin County Extension Youth Coordinator for 4-H and youth development programs. Flexible schedule. Some evening and weekend work required. Competitive wage and benefits. High school diploma, good writing skills, computer literacy, and interest in youth development required. Post-secondary education and 4-H experience preferred. Start date November 1. Application with résumé and five references deadline September 23 or until position filled.



August 4, 2016

The Iowa Master Gardener class will be offered at the Hardin County Extension Office. Participants will learn best practices for designing gardens, home landscaping, lawn management, fruit culture, growing vegetables, growing house plants, and managing diseases and pests. The class will be held on Tuesday evenings, September 20 to November 29, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
