Country Song (1984)

Light pink shrub. The ovoid-pointed buds of pale azalea pink (RHSCC 38B) open to double (25-30 petals), shallow-cupped, 4-5 inch blooms which retain their color until the petals drop. The blooms are borne in clusters of 1-5 and have a pleasing myrrh fragrance. The abundant, leathery foliage is dark green. The thorns are brown and awl-like. the erect, bushy plant is moderately vigorous and free-flowering from June until killing frost. The plants are winter-hardy in Iowa without protection.
