February 9, 2016

Seeking 4-H food stand manager for Hancock County Fair, July 26-August 1.  Manager responsible for ordering, food preparation, and managing the small food stand by the show ring. Manager will work with volunteers in the stand.

Breakfast and lunch will be available daily. Supper will be available only during high traffic times that do not interfere with other meal events (Farm Bureau, Pork and Beef producer meals).

Part time-temporary position with flexible work time. Assist with planning and implementation of the Hancock County Extension 4-H program and office clerical work. Must enjoy working with people, and have strong organizational and computer skills. Knowledge of ISU Extension and 4-H helpful.

Join us on Friday, February 26th from 6-8:30pm at the Veterans Memorial Rec Center in Garner for an evening of family fun.  All families are invited.  We will have pizza, Hanson Family Juggling, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, ping pong tournament, bingo, and crafts and games for young kiddos.  RSVP is required by Feb. 23rd so we have enough food for everyone.  RSVP to: vschmidt@iastate.edu or 641-923-2856.  Hope you can join us!!  Our flyer is HERE

Registration materials are now available for the spring session of After School Kids Club in Garner and Britt.  This session we will be learning more about weather including volcanos, earthquakes, flooding, rainbows and tornadoes.  ASK lets youth experience what 4-H has to offer while being a part of an afterschool club.

A BIG thank you to our Hancock County 4-H sponsors!  Hancock County is home to more than 180 4-H members and nearly 40 4-H volunteers.  Nearly 90 K-3 graders got to participate in Hancock County Clover Kids last year.  Our summer programs reached 315 youth.  Our sponsors help make this program a HUGE success!
