Raising Money $mart Kids Workshop Offered
“Raising Money $mart Kids” will be the topic of a free one-hour workshop on Monday April 29, 6:30 p.m. at Kendall Young Library in Webster City. No matter how old your children or grandchildren are, it is never too early or too late to teach skills they’ll need in order to make wise financial choices as adults.
Topics will include: skills and strategies for children of different ages, the power of example, maximizing the value of allowances, and resources for more information. Babysitting will be provided for children ages 1-6; parents are asked to pre-register with the library if they will be bringing children for babysitting – call 832-9100.
The workshop will be led by Barb Wollan, Family Finance Specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. It is part of the “Smart Investing @ your library” project, which is funded by the FINRA Foundation (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) in partnership with the American Library Association, Iowa Library Services, the Ames Public Library and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach to provide effective, non-commercial investor education resources.
For more information contact Barb Wollan (832-9597) or Angie Martin-Schwarze (832-9100).
