Many families struggle with making succession plans.  This program is desinged to help farm families navigate the often difficult conversations that surround sucession planning.  It provides a neutral environment to assist with communication aobut goals and dreams for the future and helps families put a plan in place that will allow their farm business to span generations.

Filing a tax return is important but can be costly for lower-income households.  Volunteers can help through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) in Hamilton County.  New volunteer tax preparers are needed at local VITA sites operated under the supervision of ISU Extension in Hamilton County.

Annual training is required for private pesticide applicators wanting to re-certify to apply restricted use pesticides.  Certified applicators who do not attend annual training will have to take an exam to re-certify.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering special training to help food service professionals meet the industry standards and their obligation to consumers. The program aims to provide food safety training for restaurant and other food service managers and professionals. Participants will have the option of testing for certification upon training completion.
