Children Benefit From Time in Nature

Today’s children are not spending enough time each week in unstructured play outside. Donna Donald, Iowa State University Extension family life field specialist, says children will develop observation skills, reduce stress levels, increase attention span, and develop nurturing skills as they explore nature. She offers suggestions for adults to offer opportunities for children to spend time outdoors.
