ServSafe Food Safety Certification Program to held in Dike July 17
ServSafe is an internationally recognized food safety certification program developed by the National Restaurant Association. With the state's adoption of Food Code 2009 with 2011 Supplement effective January 1, 2014, a new requirement that at least one employee be certified in food safety through an approved program will go into effect in 2014. ServSafe is one of four approved programs by the Conference on Food Protection.
Twelve Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Nutrition and Health Regional specialists are all certified food safety specialists and registered instructors for this program. ISU Extension and Outreach has partnered with the Iowa Restaurant Association for several years in offering this program state wide.
