The Grundy County Extension Office will host a Pest Control Operators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009. The satellite program will be shown at locations throughout Iowa and is sponsored by Iowa State University Extension’s Pest Management and the Environment Program (PME).
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by sessions from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $60 on or before Nov. 25 and $70 after Nov. 26. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Brenda at the Grundy County Extension office by phoning 319-824-6979.
The 2009 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7A, 7B, 8 and 10. The course will cover topics such as safe application techniques and calibration; pests and pest management; pesticides and pesticide labels; and laws and regulations.
