AMES, Iowa – Iowans who want to learn to make better investing decisions can register for “Smart Investing@Your Library.” Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering three free courses completely online, as well as face to face at some Iowa libraries.

AMES, Iowa – Iowans can expand their financial knowledge and skills without leaving home with free online classes and webinars from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and eXtension. The only requirement is a computer with Internet access.

Finding the balance between emotions and the “teachable moment” as parents talk to their children is important, an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialist says.

AMES, Iowa -- Iowans have two sources of information to help them prepare to select health insurance coverage when open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act begins again Nov. 15. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering “Smart Choice: Health Insurance” classes throughout the state this fall. In addition, the Iowa Department of Human Services has a new website where Iowa Health and Wellness members can find information about premium free coverage in 2015.

AMES, Iowa — Governor Terry Branstad has proclaimed Sept. 21-27 as Iowa Farm Safety and Health Week. The Iowa Farm Safety and Health Week promotion is being held in conjunction with the 71st annual National Farm Safety and Health Week. This year’s national theme is “Safety Counts: Protecting What Matters” and is coordinated by the National Safety Council and supported by various organizations and groups interested in agricultural safety.
