I'm a Seed coverI’m A Seed
by Jean Marzollo,1996.
I’m A Seed. Scholastic, Inc. New York. 28 pages. ISBN: 0-590-26586-5

How do you know what type of a plant a seed will grow to be? This cute story cleverly describes how two seeds, planted the same grow up to be two different plants - a marigold and a pumpkin. The creative, paper cut illustrations by Judith Moffatt beautifully and accurately show the differences between the two plants as they germinate and grow side by side. The story compares the leaf sizes and shapes, the flowers, and the fruit. The one thing the two plants have in common are the seeds found inside each of them that will become new plants. I’m a Seed is recommended for readers, ages three through six.
