The time is drawing near...don't forget to identify your livestock during the Animal Identification Period! All animals that you are considering showing at the Greene County Fair or Iowa State Fair MUST be identified before May 15, 2008.

6th Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale (Posted on 5/8/2008)
The 6th Annual Greene County Master Gardener plant sale will be held Saturday May 17, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Clover Hall. There will be house plants, perennials, annuals, garden hand tools, and other garden related items available for purchase.

WANTED: Fun-loving adults who would be chaeprones at the 2008 Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, Animal Science Roundup and CSI: Crops. Must like 4-Hers and be prepared for three fun-filled days on the Iowa State campus! 
Youth Practice Communication Skills at "Speak Easy" Program (Posted on 5/2/2008)
These kindergarten and first graders spent the afternoon of April 24 practicing communications skills during the Iowa State University Greene County Extension “Speak Easy” program taught by Annette Brown, 4-H Youth Development Specialist, at the Greene County Community Center. The highlight of the day was performing the “Three Sisters” skit for Parks and Recreation afterschool youth and for their family members that came to pick them up.

In May’s Families Together workshop, “Success in the Summer,” we will discuss what our children need to be mentally and physically content. We will also explore some ways as adults we can promote learning, while still enjoying the summer sun. 
DARE TO DO at the Tri-County Junior 4-H Camp! (Posted on 4/22/2008)
Junior 4-H members are invited to Dare to Do at the Tri-County Junior 4-H Camp July 30--August 1 at the Iowa 4-H Center. Campers will have three fun filled days learning new skills, making new friends, testing your skills during camp activities and enjoying the great outdoors! Find out more here! 
"Ignite the Flame" at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference! (Posted on 4/4/2008)
Looking for fun, friends, new experiences and life on a college campus? On June 24, Iowa State University and the State 4-H Council will welcome 1,000 Iowa teens for three days of workshops, community service, recreation and fun! The conference is open to all 8-12th graders. For registration and information contact the Iowa State University Extension office in Greene County.

Referral Program Helps farm/Rural Families Deal with Major Change, Stress (Posted on 4/10/2007)
If you or someone you know is experiencing major change or stress associated with rural life, the Sowing the Seeds of Hope program may be able to help. The program offers no-cost mental health services – up to five one-hour sessions with a professional provider – for eligible farm/rural family members who do not have insurance coverage or who are underinsured.
