NEW 4-H Leadership Council beginnig January 2010!

One youth and one adult representative from each Greene County 4-H club will serve on our revitalized 4-H Leadership Council beginning in January 2010! The council will promote the 4-H program, get input from clubs and the community regarding 4-H, and take an active role in planning, conducting and evaluating 4-H programming in Greene County! Beef Weigh-In

Market beef weigh-in will take place on SUNDAY, December 20 from 1-4:30 pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds. This is a NEW day and time. Any youth who are considering showing beef at the 2010 Greene County Fair, Iowa State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben need to attend and weigh-in their cattle. Follow this link for more specific information.

4-H CloverIowa 4-H has a new look online, and tech-savvy teens say it’s “better than Facebook.” The site includes an interactive map to help kids and teens connect with 4-H, project links, games, event calendars and an interactive networking site for members.

Iowa Delegates to 2009 National 4-H Congress Announced

Twenty-two 4-H’ers have been selected to represent Iowa as delegates for the National 4-H Congress Nov. 27 – Dec. 1 in Atlanta, Ga. Individual stories are available for delegates from Adair, Black Hawk, Buena Vista, Cass, Davis, Hamilton, Johnson, Jones, Madison, Mills, O’Brien, Plymouth, Sac, Story, Webster and Worth counties.
Pioneer Hi-Bred Pledges $150,000 to Support Iowa 4-H Youth Programs

Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, announced a $150,000 matching gift pledge to the Iowa 4-H Foundation to support youth programs. The contribution launches the Iowa 4-H Foundation’s President’s Campaign fundraising effort.

Iowa 4-H Recognizes Monsanto Support for Volunteers

Interviewing 103 teenage 4-H members applying for state project awards takes time and dedicated adult volunteers. ISU Extension noted Monsanto's help with this round of interviews as well as ongoing support of 4-H volunteer training.
