Each year, 4-H members show their growth in goals set for specific project areas through exhibiting at the Greene County Fair and Iowa State Fair.  Exhibitors in non-animal project areas are chosen at the county level to advance to the Iowa State Fair.  All 4-H animal shows at the Iowa State Fair are open to all 4-H members wishing to exhibit. Times have changed since great grandma was canning for her family. Today’s recipes have been scientifically tested to ensure a safe product. So before trying any of those old family canning recipes, call AnswerLine, the home and family hotline at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “If great grandma’s recipe isn’t safe, AnswerLine will tell you,” said hotline coordinator Elizabeth Meimann.

Former Greene County Fair Board member and Extension 4-H staff, David & Cherie Roquet are the latest Greene County inductee to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.  During a ceremony held at the Iowa State Fair 4-H Exhibits Building on August 23, the Roquet’s were recognized for their significant contributions to the Greene County 4-H program.
