Alliant Energy and Iowa DNR are sponsoring The Operation ReLeaf Residential Tree Program in Jefferson. Operation ReLeaf is a partnership initiative to aid long-term energy and natural resource conservation. The program is funded by Alliant Energy, and administered by the Greene County Conservation Board along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources – Bureau of Forestry. this fall trees will be available to Alliant Energy customers through distribution in Dallas County on September 22. Are you prepared for implementation of the Veterinary Feed Directive on January 1, 2017? Plan to attend one of 11 educational sessions to learn more about the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD), including the roles and responsibilities of veterinarians, producers, and distributors. The series is set for Aug. 22 through Sept. 1 at various locations around Iowa, and attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and concerns. To learn more, click on the headline.

Click here to find 4-H record keeping forms and help sheets, as well as award applications! In order to be considered for any county awards, all record keeping and award applications must be turned in to the extension office by Thursday, September 1st.

Since 2002, each county in Iowa has had the opportunity to nominate an individual or couple who has shown outstanding service and dedication to the 4-H program to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Greene County’s honoree for 2016 is the late Monica McGregor. McGregor will be represented by her family at the induction ceremony on Sunday, August 21 at 1:30 pm in the 4-H Exhibit Building at the Iowa State Fair. Click here to read more.
