Position Opening: Summer Assistant

The Greene County Extension Council is seeking a part-time summer assistant (12-week position) who enjoys helping people. Position works closely with all Greene County Extension staff to assist in implementing summer programming in Greene County related to youth/4-H, families, agriculture and natural resources, and community economic development.  Office assistance will also be a component of the position.  Must possess strong working knowledge of basic computer applications.  Ideal candidate is willing to learn and grow in a positive work environment.

An evening for people to find out more about the various community groups and organizations in Greene County will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church parish hall in Jefferson.  The public is invited to attend. The evening will have an expo-like feel with community organizations having booths to visit.  The Greene County Cattlemen will be grilling free hamburgers and hot dogs for visitors.  Door prizes will be given out throughout the evening, as well as a grand prize to be raffled off at the end of the night.

.  The “Managing for Today and Tomorrow,” program, a new Annie’s Project course, is being offered in Jefferson on Thursday evenings, February 21 to March 28 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.  at the Greene County Extension Meeting Room

Greene County Extension and Boone County Extension are partnering this year to host a series of meetings in Ogden on the topic of crops marketing, open free of charge to anybody interested in learning more through hearing guest speakers and participating in hands-on experiences.

Registration is now open for Greene County 5th and 6th graders interested in learning more about the field of babysitting.  The Babysitting Basics course is a five-week series that will run on Tuesdays, beginning March 5th, with the final class scheduled for April 2nd.  The sessions will run from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., with the exception of the first class, which will last until 6:00 p.m.  The course is jointly offered by Greene County Extension and Greene County Public Health.
