Lindsey Holt Hired As Summer Program Assistant
Iowa State University Extension & Outreach-Fremont County is excited to welcome Lindsey Holt as the Summer Program Assistant! Her tasks include general office duties, as well as assisting Susan Harris, the County Youth Coordinator, with organizing such events as Waubonsie Horse Camp, the Fremont County Fair and several one-day learning opportunities for youth. She is also serving as the Assistant High School and Head Junior High Softball Coach in Sidney this summer.
Lindsey, whose parents are Jason and Trisha Holt and Joyce and Troy Gorham, is a 2011 graduate of Sidney High School. Her siblings are Tayler, Maegan, Jackson and Addison. Lindsey is a student at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO and is majoring in Unified Earth Science Education. She plans to be a high school science teacher, and is already gaining experience as a supplemental instructor of American Historical Survey at NWMSU. She also tutors Biology and Educational Psychology.
Lindsey, an alumnus of Fremont County 4-H, was a member of Waubonsie Trail Blazers and Silver Skylarks. Favorite project areas include sheep, swine, photography, food & nutrition, and Share The Fun. She was a Fremont County Fair Queen candidate and had the privilege of attending Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF). CWF is, to date, her favorite trip of all time, and she credits it for sparking an interest in U.S. history and government.
Lindsey, like many outstanding youth from Fremont County, cites 4-H as a positive influence in her life. Says Lindsey, "I am so excited to be working with the extension office and the youth of Fremont County! The things learned in 4-H are gifts that keep on giving throughout life. Leadership, responsibility, dedication, hard work, respect, and reliability, are among the skills that will always serve you well."
Stop by the Fremont County Extension Office at 610 Clay Street in Sidney to say hi to Lindsey, or call us at 712-374-2351.
