Fremont County Extension Seeking a Summer Program Assistant

ISU Extension & Outreach in Fremont County is currently accepting applications for the position of Summer Program Assistant. 

Primary job duties include assisting with summer events and activities such as Waubonsie Horse Camp, day camps, 4-H workshops, and the Fremont County Fair; assisting with county and state fair entry processing; assisting with database entry and coordination; and maintaining accurate records associated with youth programming.  This position offers a great opportunity to develop skills necessary for a career in youth development, event planning, office management or any position with Extension & Outreach. 

The successful candidate must be a high school graduate, or equivalent, complete a successful background screening, have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation and knowledege and/or experience as a member or volunteer in the Iowa 4-H program.  An interest in a career in Extension & Outreach is desirable.  Necessary job skills include computer skills, filing and organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, ability to work with others as a team player and dependability. 

Benefits include an hourly wage commensurate with experience and education, employer's share of FICA and IPERS, reimbursement for work-related travel and meals and paid holidays that occur during the employment period. 

The employee will be expected to work about 20 hours per week beginning in May and ending in August.  Exact starting and ending dates are negotiable.
