26th Waubonsie Horse Camp June 7-9, 2013

Susan Harris, Fremont County Youth Coordinator, reports, “Plans are being finalized for an enjoyable and exciting camp, scheduled for June 7-9, and special events on Sunday for campers and their families,” said Harris. All 4-H members, 4th through 12th grade, who can ride a horse independently, are encouraged to join the experience.

The camp utilizes the superb riding facilities of the Sidney Iowa PRCA Rodeo. Clinics will involve horsemanship, reining, riding skill development. Plans are underway to add ranch/rope activities for experienced campers. Sessions will challenge each camper from the beginner to the advanced senior. The camp registration fee is $60 for the entire weekend and is due by May 3, 2013

Senior 4-H members are encouraged to apply for camp counselor positions. Counselors need to be 16-18 years old, be confident and knowledgeable riders, and willing to provide leadership to a small group of 4-H youth. Counselor applications are due May 3.
