Join 4-H

Embark on an exhilarating journey with 4-H, a global program captivating the hearts of nearly 6 million young people! Youth can experience 4-H through school and community clubs, in-school and after-school programs, and 4-H camps. 4-H programming focuses on the following program project areas: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Communication and the Arts, Healthy Living, Leadership and Civic Engagement, and STEM. 4-H welcomes youth from various backgrounds and passions in grades K-12 - Clover Kids (grades K-3) and 4-H Clubs (grades 4-12).

Enrolling in your county's 4-H program may involve an enrollment fee. Please contact your local County Extension Office to find out more. Financial assistance for individual enrollment fees is available through the Iowa 4-H Foundation.

What is 4-H?

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills as they work in partnership with caring adults.

What does that mean? In 4-H we are committed to helping young people develop skills that will help them succeed. We want to empower all youth to reach their full potential.

  • To re-enroll in Franklin County 4-H go to 4HOnline.
  • Cost is $40 after December 1st. The Franklin County 4-H Foundation and local 4-H clubs cover the re-enrollment fee before December 1st. This fee helps offset the costs of the county and state 4-H program. If you would like to apply for financial assistance, contact the Franklin County Extension Office.
  • Use an email that is checked regularly to receive emails for upcoming events.

1. Pick a Club

  • Check out Franklin County's 4-H clubs. Join a club that works best for you! Contact the club leader to learn specific information about the club.
  • If you would like assistance joining a club, contact the Franklin County Extension Office.

2. Register

  • To register for 4-H, for to 4HOnline. Create a new family account and profile for each youth.
  • Use an email that is checked regularly to receive emails for upcoming events.
  • 4-H is free to all first year members joining in Franklin County.
