Christmas Tree Fertilization
May 2012 - Three sites were selected in early fall 2011, seedlings were planted in early spring 2012 and weather stations were installed in early May 2012. Seedling survival and growth will be followed during the establishment year.
November 2012 - What a year, the drought has destroyed almost every first year christmas tree seedling in the state. our entire study was destroyed by the extreme weather (heat and lack of moisture) during the summer of 2012. all seedlings will be replanted in the spring of 2013. stay tuned as we are downloading the weater station data from the three partner farms and we will make the summary data available on this site.
