Research Project Wants to Hear from Farmers on FSMA
Michael Bulger, a graduate student in New York University’s Food Studies Program, is seeking input from produce growers on the Food Safety Modernization Act rules for a research project that could be used to advocate on behalf of farmers. Bulger has launched a survey and is encouraging all produce growers, especially small and midsize operations, to participate. The survey takes 10 minutes and all responses are anonymous. “I hope to find out more about produce farmers’ attitudes, levels of awareness of proposed rules, and readiness to meet new standards,” said Bulger, who is trying to get more farmer responses this week.
