What is 4-H?

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills as they work in partnership with caring adults.

What does that mean? In 4-H we are committed to helping young people develop skills that will help them succeed. We want to empower all youth to reach their full potential.

Join 4-H

You can join a 4-H club up through 12th grade. You can do all kinds of fun activities, like build a rocket, design clothes, learn about computers, help save the environment. You name it, you can do it in 4-H. And better yet, you can get a lot of help from adult volunteers. They are mentors who can teach you and help you learn.

4-H workshops, tours and events are designed to spark an interest in something new!  A different event will take place each month at a different location focusing on a different project area.  We want 4-Hers to try something different and challenge themselves.

A pet can be your best pal, join us for Clover Kids Pet Pals as we have fun learning about pets of all shapes and sizes.  We will even put on a stuffed animal pet show of our own, so bring your favorite stuffed animal and join the fun.  If you would like to share your live pet, bring a photo of them!

The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame recognizes volunteers and staff who have exhibited outstanding service to their county 4-H program.  2016 Floyd County inductee is Jane Larson of rural Nora Springs.
