The Science Exploration programs are held on Early Dismissal Days (Charles City Schools) for youth 3 - 5 grade. Join Jay Cutler, Workshop Instructor and explore GPS, Building Bridges and Theory of Light 1 and 2.

Beef Weigh-In: Dec. 12, 9 - Noon

Beef Weigh-In is scheduled for Saturday, December 12th at the fairgrounds from 9am-12noon. Please note the time change. Cost for ear tags will be $1.00 per tag. This year again, we will be using retinal imaging for state fair cattle. This verification process will take place at the weigh-in. Cost for this verification will be $5.00 per head.

Join Bob Hauer, Horticulture Program Assistant and learn to make your own 12" evergreen wreath to take home. Supplies for the basic evergreen holiday wreath are provided. Bring pruning shears if you have them. $10. Pre-registration required.

Operation: Military Kids Supports Children Affected by Deployment

Operation: Military KidsAnother 3,500 Iowa National Guard Soldiers will be deployed for duty in Afghanistan in fall 2010. Iowa children who will have family members deploying can get help from Operation: Military Kids.

Iowa 4-H Foundation Announces Winner of 2009 Toyota “Clover” Corolla

Craig Griffieon of Ankeny has won the 2009 Toyota “Clover” Corolla in the second annual Iowa 4-H Vehicle Raffle. The drawing was held Oct 9 over the noon hour on WHO Radio’s The Big Show to culminate National 4-H Week.
Iowa 4-H Announces State Horse Judging Contest Winners

The Madison County 4-H Horse Judging team placed first among five senior teams at the 2009 Iowa 4-H State Horse Judging Contest Oct. 3. Other placings went to teams from Clinton, Buena Vista, Howard and Madison counties.
4-H’er Is Healthy Iowa Emerging Leader

Devin De Weerd, an Iowa State University student and Sioux County 4-H’er, received the Healthy Iowa Emerging Leader Award from the Wellness Council of Iowa in partnership with the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Nutrition, and the Academy for a Healthy Iowa.
