Fishy Project Ideas
- Develop a poster on the fishing code of ethics.
- Make a display on the different types of rod and reel combinations.
- Conduct a study on your county or townships fishing areas showing where they are located and what fish lives where.
- Design lures that mimic aquatic insects that fish eat.
- Study how farm ponds are managed for largemouth bass or channel catfish.
- Conduct a working exhibit on how to get a pole ready for fishing.<
- Develop a presentation on Iowa's Fishing Past and Present.
- Study the watershed where you live to see how it is affecting the fish population in your local streams and ponds.
- Design a presentation on Fishing First Aide and give it to your club.
- Help out at a local county conservation board fishing clinic.
Join a 4-H Fishing Club. Contact your County Extension Office to get information on possible Clubs, daycamps, after school programs and fishing information.
Go to a fishing camp. Contact your County Extension Office.
