Life is not about money . . .
What are your priorities? Your goals? How can you use what you have, to get what you want?

When you have good information and strong skills for managing your money, you can use your money more effectively.
Strong financial skills . . .
Why do some families take many of life's financial challenges in stride (from car repairs and medical bills to a job layoff or death) while other families of similar income take years to recover?

To become financially secure, you need to establish your family's goals, determine your income, usual expenses, occasional expenses, debt repayment requirements, and how much you need to save (invest) to meet your family's goals.

Sound like a tall order? It can be done! Read how other Iowans have taken control of their money...

How to use this site:

Sign-up to work with a Learning Coach. The Coach is available free by e-mail whenever you have a question and will send you weekly money tips to challenge your thinking.

Once you have signed-up, you will receive your "log-in" and "password" within a few days. You will then have access to all the restricted information and materials listed under the "Seven Steps to Take Control of Your Money."

After several months, you will be asked to participate in one follow-up evaluation by e-mail. It is important to Iowa State University Extension to learn how you were helped by participating.
