access an online learning environment. They are adapted from a quiz used
at OnlineLearning.net.
- Basics
- I have ready access to a computer and, through it, to the internet.
- I know how to use a computer to browse the web and send email.
- Typing short messages is not an overwhelming ordeal for me.
- Advanced
- The words "enter your ID and password" don't normally send
me into a total panic.
- Exploring new things appeals to me.
- Asking questions doesn't terrify me.
- One-to-one dialogues (in person or otherwise) are not something I try hard
to avoid.
- I've like to work independently.
- I can make 5-10 hours (on average) available for study each week.
- I once read a book on how to do something.
- Positive
- Having the freedom to choose when I attend class and when I study
suits the way I like to learn.
- Driving to an extension meeting is not my recreation of choice.
- In the last year or two, there was a meeting, or set of meetings, I
wanted to go to. They just didn't fit it my schedule.
- I like the exchange of ideas and the sometimes lively give and take
of a really good discussion.
- Direct, personal instructor feedback is something I value and benefit
from.
- Going to class whenever I feel like it sounds like fun!
- Gravy
- Often, after I've left a meeting or discussion, I think of just the
thing I should have said at some critical juncture. By then, of course, it
is too late.
- Sometimes I find that when I write, I can take the time to organize my
thoughts better than when I talk.
- Having classmates from all over the corn belt is a great opportunity for
learning all by itself.
- Sometimes my best response to a question or statement is the one I think of
just after the one I gave.
