Helen continues to volunteer for 4-H mainly on the county level. In 2002, she helped create Fayette County's 100-year anniversary 4-H quilt. Each year she helps by recording and pinning ribbons on exhibits for 4-H'ers participating in the Fayette County Fair non-livestock judging. Occasionally, she also attends a Diligent Dovers 4-H club function.
Helen's nine children, along with others whose lives she has touched, agree Helen played an important role in their lives as 4-H youth. She willingly spent much of her time and effort in making 4-H an enjoyable learning experience for each of her children and every member of her 4-H club. Helen went out of her way to not only support and encourage, but also participate in 4-H alongside the members.
In addition to 4-H, Helen takes part in church and community organizations. She is a member and past officer of the Fayette County Quilt Guild, Holy Name Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She also serves on the election board for Dover Township.
Helen truly deserves a thank you for her many years of dedication to the 4-H program in Fayette County.
