Have Fun! Make Friends! Join 4-H!
The 4-H program creates a supportive environment for youth to reach their full potential through educational activities for youth.
Age: Youth are eligible to join 4-H in 4th-12th grade. (Clover Kids can join in K-3rd grade).
4-H Clubs: There are 16 community clubs, 4 Clover Kids clubs and 5 special interest clubs (Sewing Club, Fishing Club, Foods Club, Horse Club and Shooting Sports). Families may join the club of their choice. Each club has adults who volunteer to help members. For a list of clubs and leaders in the county click here.
Meetings: Club meetings are usually held once per month. Meetings consist of recreation, business meeting, presentations and refreshments. Parents/guardians are an important part of 4-H and are encouraged to attend meetings and participate in 4-H activities.
Members: Youth are to attend club meetings, participate in 4-H events, set goals, evaluate their 4-H experiences and have fun while learning.
Projects: Youth learn new skills through project work. There are many different project areas to choose from. Part of the fun of project work is being able to exhibit at the county fair. For a list of available projects click here.
Adult volunteer opportunities: 4-H has many opportunities for adults to volunteer; from a single event, to a whole year, being a club leader and beyond.
