Annual Forest Stewardship Conference Is March 10 (Posted on 1/18/2012)
The 2012 Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference is Saturday, March 10 at Sinsinawa Mound Center, Sinsinawa, Wis. This is the 18th year for the conference, which annually draws 550 woodland landowners from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
ServSafe® Training Coming to Decorah (Posted on 1/18/2012)
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering ServSafe® food safety training to help you meet industry standards. This training is recognized by more health jurisdictions than any other food safety training program in the United States. Created by the industry, for the industry, the ServSafe® program is one of the industry’s strongest educational programs and is administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Annie's Project Teaches Farm Women to be Better Business Partners (Posted on 1/18/2012)
ISU Extension and Outreach will offer a nationally renowned farm business course for northeast Iowa women in February. Annie’s Project empowers farm women to be better business partners through peer networks. The program includes critical decision making and information topics on production, marketing, financial, legal and human resources risk management.

Talking about estate planning can be difficult, and implementing an estate plan can be even harder. ISU Extension and Outreach is hosting a workshop called “Evaluating Your Estate Plan” to provide an opportunity for people to learn about options in transitioning assets to the next generation.

County Sponsored Horse Workout (Posted on 6/27/2011)
Accredited judges Kathy Krukow and Jerry Bishop led the county-wide horse workout which youth learned how to properly halter their horse and how to show their horse during halter classes.

Entrepreneurs in northeast Iowa now have another financing option to launch their ideas. The Northeast Iowa Food & Farm Coalition, or NIFF Coalition, was recently approved as an affiliate of Iowa Microloan.
