Managing in Tough Times Publications Distributed to Those Laid Off From Jobs

Problem:
Due to the struggling economy and number of people laid off, there was an increased need for publications to help people during these troubling times.

Response:
Extension Families Specialists, along with the assistance of Marketing Specialists, designed 4 publications: You and Your Family Staying Strong, Your Marriage- Keeping it Strong in Stressful Times, Your Finances-Take Positive Steps, Understanding LOSS in Job Loss Publications; they were used in a variety of ways. One way included distributing the publications in worker information packets at layoff meetings through Region I Training & Employment.

Impact:
ISU Extension partnered with Region I Training and Employment and reached out to 500 people who each received all four of the Managing in Tough Times publications.
