New Life in Iowa Web site has expanded information
Extensions Life in Iowa student interns and service learners have completed their classroom preparation and are reporting to work. Life in Iowa introduces ISU undergraduate students to community-based learning for leadership and service in locations throughout Iowa. Students work in nonprofit cultural and environmental organizations, social service agencies, community-supported agriculture and small, locally owned businesses. Extension field staff, particularly CEEDs, are integral to the Life in Iowa program, helping students define projects and supporting them during the summer.

QUICK TIPS
Switching to Internet Explorer
If youre still using Netscape 4.7, we recommend you switch to Internet Explorer 6. Netscape 4.7 is now several years old and cannot always display newer web pages properly. The most recent Scout CD (sent in the December 13, 2002 transmittal packet) contains a copy of Internet Explorer 6. If your computer meets the university desktop support standards, you should be able to run Internet Explorer 6.
To install Internet Explorer on Windows 98, 2000, or XP (for Windows 2000 and XP, you will want to log in as administrator first):
--Insert the Scout CD in the CD drive
--In My Computer, double-click on the Scout CD icon
--Double-click on the folder labeled 'Other'
--Double-click on the folder labeled 'Internet Explorer'
--Double-click on 'iesetup' or 'iesetup.exe'
--Follow the instructions for installing Internet Explorer 6
Once you've installed Internet Explorer (IE6), you will want to:
Make IE6 your default web browser.
Import your Netscape bookmarks.
If you have questions about the transition from Netscape to IE6, contact the EIT computer support line at 515/294-1725. Or you can send email to EIT at eit@iastate.edu.
The Scout CD also includes installation versions of HP Print drivers, and other service packs. These, too, can be found from the desktop by double-clicking on 'My Computer,' double-clicking on the Scout CD, and then double-clicking on the 'Other' folder.
