SMITH INDCUTED INTO IOWA 4-H HALL OF FAME

Holle Smith of Emmet County was inducted into the 2013 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 18. Eighty-three Iowa counties participated this year and selected 110 inductees for their outstanding service and dedication to 4-H. Inductees or their surviving family members were be presented a certificate by the Iowa 4-H Foundation as they were introduced on stage and honored at a reception following the ceremony.
Holle has held a passion for 4-H since she was 9 years old, in which she participated in every aspect of 4-H all years she was eligible. 4-H lead her on a path to a career with Iowa State University Extension in Emmet County for over 30 years, where her name became synonymous with 4-H to the residents of Emmet County. Holle made countless improvements to the 4-H program through her years on staff and had the opportunity to touch the lives of several generations of Emmet County residents through her kind and thoughtful demeanor.
