county council party

National Guard families with deployed soldiers were treated to a Christmas party, provided by Community members including Estherville Chamber, Elks Lodge, Emmet County 4-H Council,  Emmet County Extension staff , Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative and local military support groups.   Families enjoyed games, refreshments, talking to Santa and just visiting with each other.

The Emmet County 4-H Council members took leadership in planning, providing and implementing the following games:  Plinko, Duck Pond, Cowboy Golf, Ping Pong Toss and Bowling.  Activities provided were face painting and coloring.  Door prizes were also distributed.

Prior to the party, 4-H’ers were provided chamber bucks to shop and wrap gifts for each of the children. 4-H members also assembled treat bags for each of the children.  Two of the 4-H’ers were dressed as elves, helping Santa give presents to the children.   Photos were taken of each family and put on the web photo page of the Estherville Daily News for servicemen to view from Kosovo.
