Steve Johnson, ISU Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist will be the speaker at Women, Land and Legacy event held on March 23. This event is titled, “Developing Strategies and Tools: Building a Crop Marketing Plan.”

ISU Extension and Outreach, Emmet County is seeking individual to hire for seasonal work to assist with delivering 4-H and youth related programing. Applications are due February 28.

Women Managing Crops is a four week session course designed for women of all ages and experience levels who want to know more about key agronomic decisions for corn and soybean production the sessions take a seasonal approach and cover decision making for pre-planting, the growing phase and harvest.

This program will be held on Tuesday’s from 9 am to noon starting March 21 and continuing until April 11 at Immaculate Conception Parish Center at 305 North Cameron Street in Graettinger. A light meal will be served at noon. The registration fee is $50.

Beef is a year-round favorite, from grilling burgers in the summer, to enjoying a hearty stew in the winter.  4-H and FFA youth in grades 4 – 12  are invited to join us for the 2017 Northwest Iowa Beef Bonanza on Saturday, February 4 from 10 am – 4 pm at the Iowa Lakes Community College Campus in Emmetsburg.
