The Estherville PROSPER Team is preparing to deliver what the World Health Organization names as its “number 1” most effective program for decreasing the onset of drugs and alcohol problems in youth. The program will run every Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the ELC Middle School starting October 4- November 15.

The 3rd Annual Glowing 4-H Foot Race will be held on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at 7:00 pm. This is a fundraiser for the Emmet County 4-H Foundation.

The Youth Environmental Agriculture Field Days program recently earned the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council Seal of Approval. Eight other programs from around Iowa also received this STEM Seal of Approval. It is given to programs that enculturate, sustain and spread STEM thinking.

According to the latest Iowa Farm and Rural Life Poll, the majority of farmers are aware of and support Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy, a science and technology-based approach used to assess and reduce nutrients delivered to Iowa waterways, the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.
