AMES, Iowa -- Farmers across Iowa are rushing to harvest their crops this time of year. However, it is important to take the time to perform grain handling and storage work properly and take appropriate safety precautions to prevent job-related injuries or even death.
Take the Stress Out of the Harvest Season

The harvest season is in full swing. Harvesting equipment and harvesting conditions will vary greatly depending on the region and the crop. However, there are two things that all harvesting operations have in common: harvesting represents the culmination of an entire season or year of work, and harvesting is also a time when many farmers push themselves to their limits both physically and mentally trying to get the crop in on time. These factors can also make the harvest season a very stressful season.
