Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a family literacy program for parents and children ages 2 to 6 years old. Family Storyteller can help parents prepare their children to succeed in school, watch their children grow in independence, get a special time with their children and have fun enjoying books with their children. Parents will learn reading techniques and then practice reading books to their children. Fun language and craft activities will complement the books and extend the learning.

On Saturday, January 24, over 70 Northwest Iowa 4-H and FFA youth and over 35 of their parents participated in the Northwest Iowa Beef Bonanza at Iowa Lakes Community College - Emmetsburg Campus.  The event for 4-H and FFA members was organized Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and Iowa Lakes Community College staff.

Beth Wycoff, an Emmet County 4-H volunteer, will take the popular Lego Mindstorm Robotics to a higher level after attending the January 24, 2015 Iowa 4-H Youth Development certification training where she learned to teach design and computer programming as a Master Robotics Volunteer.
