Iowa State University Extension and Outreach: Emmet County

Emmet County Extension brings the University to you, providing families with resources and educational opportunties. When you need to make decisons that affect your family, community, business or farm, look to Iowa State University Extension for research-based information and education to help you make better decisions.

The Extension Office will be closing at 4:00 pm on Monday, March 27.

We will be open right away at 8 AM on March 28.

OFFICE HOURS: ISU Extension and Outreach Emmet County office is open Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m

Steve Johnson, ISU Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist will be the speaker at Women, Land and Legacy event held on March 23. This event is titled, “Developing Strategies and Tools: Building a Crop Marketing Plan.”

The 2017 4-H Clover Knowledge Escapade is Sunday, April 2 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville. It will start at 2:00 pm with Extemporaneous Speaking and end at 5:00 pm. Entry forms need to be turned into the Extension Office by March 23rd.

In today's world, food safety is one of animal producers' biggest responsibilities.  With over 15,000 Iowa 4-H'ers enrolled in livestock projects, about 17 million pounds of meat is produced each year. The goal of the FSQA program is to help youth and their parents better understand what they can do to produce the safest food possible.
