The Excellence in Extension Fund is designed to improve and enrich the quality of educational programs offered by Iowa State University Extension. The Excellence in Extension Fund supports staff and programs through the distribution of grants.
Ways to contribute to Excellence in Extension
All gifts of any amount are appreciated. The following are various ways you can participate...
Usually cash contributions are made annually during this, fall fundraising campaign, but they can be made at any time throughout the year by sending your contribution directly to the Iowa State University Foundation, 2505 Elwood Drive, Ames, Iowa 50010-8644, or give online through the Iowa State University Foundation's Online Giving Web site. Be sure to designate Excellence in Extension as the recipient. If you itemize deductions, your gift is fully deductible up to limits set by the IRS.
You may make your contribution to Excellence in Extension through a payroll deduction. This can be done now, during the fall EIE fundraising campaign or during the general ISU Foundation fundraising campaign by designating Excellence in Extension as the recipient. More information about payroll deduction is available through the Iowa State University Foundation's Online Giving Web site.
Memorials or Tributes
These contributions can be given in honor or in memory of a special person. Tributes have been given for a staff member or others interested in Extension at their retirement or in recognition of a special milestone in their life. Memorials are given often in lieu of flowers. Send gifts directly to the Iowa State University Foundation, 2505 Elwood Drive, Ames, Iowa 50010-8644 or give online through the Iowa State University Foundation's Online Giving Web site. Be sure to designate it as a memorial or tribute to a specific individual, with Excellence in Extension as the recipient.
For additional information, contact the ISU Foundation.
Gifts by Wills
A bequest in your will can take a variety of forms--cash, property, percent of your estate or establishment of a trust.
Gifts of Life Insurance
Life insurance can provide a significant gift and still provide you with a charitable deduction. These gifts may be either a new policy or an existing policy. You may choose to make Excellence in Extension the only beneficiary or a partial beneficiary.
Gifts of Property and Securities
Gifts of property (land, building, farm, etc.) or stock and other securities can be given to the Excellence in Extension Fund. If you have a highly appreciated property you can avoid paying capital gains taxes. By using one of the several trust options you could continue to receive income from the property too.
Gifts in Trust
Gifts using one of the several charitable trust options are excellent ways to provide you with lifetime income and receive a charitable deduction as well as make a contribution to Excellence in Extension.
Donations and purchases at the EIE Silent Auction held each year at Annual Conference also contribute to the EIE fund.
Thank you for your support of the Excellence in Extension Fund!!
