Boots to Heels Conference to Celebrate Rural Women March 6 in Atlantic

Women in Southwest Iowa are invited to a day of fun, learning and friendship during the fourth annual Boots to Heels Conference on Saturday, March 6th. The conference for women “involved in or affected by agriculture” runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic. The local planning committee is excited to have a dynamic lineup of speakers scheduled for the one-day conference, to focus on the interests of women living and working in Iowa.

High Tunnel Production Workshops Offered by Iowa State University Extension

If you are a current commercial fruit or vegetable grower, a gardener with an interest in expanding into commercial production, or a traditional farmer interested in diversifying, you may want to learn more about high tunnel production by attending a workshop sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture. Two, 7-hour, in-depth workshops are being offered in early January and March 2010.

All-Iowa Hort Expo set for March 19 & 20, 2010

The Iowa State Horticultural Society (ISHS) will sponsor the All-Iowa Horticulture Exposition II (Expo) on March 19-20, 2010 at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. The ISHS will once again partner with Iowa State University Extension to coordinate the event. More information about the Expo appears on the Society’s website, www.iowahort.org.
