Welcome to Toys in Space! We invite you to use these new materials to help your students be successful with science.
The Toys in Space unit is designed to stimulate youth interest in science, aerospace, and physics through experiments with toys. The new curriculum uses space to motivate your students to learn about science and physics while developing the life skills of communication, learning to learn, critical thinking, and problem solving.
The information in this unit and the accompanying Toys in Space II videotape will provide direction for completing a variety of experiential activities related to gravity and space. These materials include:
Activities are developed for two levels. Level I is for youth in grades 1 through 5. Level II is for youth in grades 6 through 12. Level I includes 14 activities; Level II includes 15 activities. The facilitator's guide includes four large group demonstrations for you to help your students explore the concepts of free fall and microgravity.
