Become a Dubuque County Master Gardener

MASTER GARDENER TRAINING 2013

Master Gardeners are individuals who have an interest in horticulture, have taken the Master Gardener training offered by Iowa State University Extension, and share their time and expertise with other gardeners. It is the acquisition of knowledge, the skill in gardening, and giving back to the community that distinguishes a Master Gardener from other gardeners.

During the training several current Master Gardeners and Extension specialists will be on hand to answer questions and deliver training sessions about houseplants, vegetables, and herbaceous ornamentals. Other sessions will be brought to the Dubuque County Extension Conference Center through Adobe Connect distance learning technology including sessions about botany and soils, landscape plants, entomology, fruit culture, turf grass, and landscape design. One class will be held at Iowa State University Campus in Ames.

The first class will be held on January 17, 2013. Click here for full training schedule  updated Feb 21, 2013

If registered by December 15th, the charge for the class is $150 including all sessions and materials. Late registration fee is $175 from Dec. 16th through Dec. 31st. All first-year Master Gardeners who complete their requirements and 40 hours of service will get a $25 rebate at the end of the year.
