Child care staff training Single topic workshops for child care providers to develop science, nature, diversity, and physical activities that improve the educational quality of their child care business.
     
Intergenerational Computer Hands-on education connecting the generations (junior high youth and senior citizens) and the Internet, including web search and e-mail skills.
     
Poverty Simulation A 3-hour interactive 'game' allowing community participants to experience poverty and the human service in a controlled learning environment. 
     
 Strengthening Families A series of 7 parent/child (age 10 to 14) meetings assisting families to address potential issues of adolescence before they appear, including peer pressure and risky behaviors.
     
AmeriCorps Promotes academic strengths and provides enrichment activities for at-risk students through community volunteers under a grant from the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Services.
     
Kindermusik Offers family scholarships to attend this parent-child (ages 0 to 5) interactive music based child development program.

Serv-Safe An 8-hour food sanitation and safety training for food service workers desiring Serv-Safe certification.  (includes national exam)
     
 Walk with a Principal Parents and elementary students take regular walks with the school principal to encourage physical activity.
     
 Feelin' Good Mileage Club Parents, elementary students, teachers and staff keep track of walking mileage to encourage physical activity.
     
 Lighten Up Iowa Develops community teams to encourage and support walking 30 minutes, eating 5 fruits and vegetables and drinking water, daily.
