Become a Fruit TreeKeeper in Dubuque and gain hands-on experience caring for fruit and nut trees! Fruit TreeKeepers learn about tree biology, planting & maintenance, fruit & nut tree varieties, organic management & care, and harvesting techniques. August 24th and 31st at the Dubuque Arboretum. 6-8pm.

Cindy Baumgartner, Nutrition and Wellness Specialist and Master Food Safety Advisor, will introduce and teach the basics of canning, freezing, and dehydrating food during the two-hour “Food Preservation 101” class to be presented from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on August 17.

Those with an interest in gardening who would like to volunteer in the community are encouraged to join the 2015 Dubuque County Master Gardener program. Both long-time gardeners and inexperienced beginners are welcome to join!

Dubuque, IOWA – Gardeners have the opportunity this summer to learn about theme gardens, planting trough gardens, water features and conservation, attracting butterflies and bees, and growing herbs. The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Growing Season” webinar series will be offered at multiple locations across Iowa during June, July and August.
